Many runners despair when the clocks change on the last Sunday of October. Keep going with ASICS Lite-Show - designed to help you stay warm, comfy and visible on those darker days and nights.

Running in the winter

There’s definitely something quite satisfying about being tough enough to brave the winter weather when the rest of the world is on the sofa, suffering the onset of cabin fever!

If you've got a big event like a marathon planned for springtime you might just need to get on with training through the darker months, whether you like it or not.

Many runners need to train before or after work. It's dark but it can be surprisingly peaceful, with fewer children and dog-walkers around than in the summer. You'll encounter other runners and exchange a nod or 'hello,' sharing a sense of camaraderie with anybody else who's still training.

If you're braving those winter runs, it's important not only to be able to see but also be seen. That's why ASICS has created Lite-Show, designed to help you stand out on those darker days and longer nights.

Update your wardrobe with Lite-Show

The Lite-Show range has all the features runners need in winter performance kit. The lightweight, breathable fabric, flatlock seams and ergonomic cut allow unrestricted movement and comfort. 360° reflective flashes have been placed exactly where they will get you noticed without compromising on style.

For colder temperatures, we love the Asics Lite-Show Winter Jacket. It's made from a wind and water repellent soft-shell fabric to protect you from the elements and there are large zipped pockets at the front so you can keep additional accessories with you. The cuffs fit nice and snug to keep out any drafts.

The Lite-Show Winter Tight is another must to complete your winter wardrobe. Both the men's and the women's versions feature a soft brushed fabric to keep you warm and the zip at the ankle ensures a secure fit.

Lite up your feet

Why bother with reflective shoes? Most headlights are angled down so anything reflective on your feet and ankles will really stand out. Plus, your feet are constantly moving which means that if they're lit up you'll be even harder to miss.

ASICS have updated one of their most popular styles, the GEL-KAYANO 27, with 360° reflective details that look great any time of day but really stand out after dark.

FlyteFoam Propel combines lightweight cushioning with bounce back energy return at toe-off, helping you to make the most of your winter training.

DYNAMIC DUOMAX™ and SPACE TRUSSTIC™ are used in the midsole for comfort and stability and a water-resistant finish means you don't need to worry about the odd shower.

Night running tips

If you are running after dark, don't forget that staying safe is your number one priority. Here are a few things to remember:

  • Ditch the headphones.
  • Change your running route frequently but stick to roads you know.
  • Tell someone where you are going and how long you expect to be.
  • Run against traffic.
  • Run in areas with street lamps.
